Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I didn't have batteries for my camera. This is what I have been up to though.
I made a new dress design that will be more fitting to make from the newspaper.
These are the circles I plan on putting on the dress. I made them about a week and a half ago. There are 60. Making them took me about 3-5 hours a day for 3 days. They seem simple, but making those circles is VERY time consuming.
These are the flowers going around the middle of the dress separating the top from the skirt. I made these a few days ago. There are also 60 of these (seems to be the common amount needed upon measuring) This took me about 2 1/2 hours.
Today I spent the time making my mold to put my dress on. I used 2 rolls of saran wrap and 1 1/2 rolls of packaging tape. I've been putting off making the mold for awhile now, so I'm glad to have finally got that done and out of the way.
I think that the mold turned out nicely! I cannot wait to see this dress finished!
ReplyDeleteI do miss the giant bow to the side of the dress though...
I know. I liked the bow. That's why instead of getting rid of it, I just moved it to the top of the dress :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have a sketch of what the backside will look like?
ReplyDeleteNot just yet. I will soon though. I have the idea. I just haven't put it on paper yet
ReplyDeleteLove the texture variety and the repetition. Hours of work, but well worth it. Your mold looks nice and solid. The division of three is nice and so is the thin darker looking line between the skirt and the bust textures.
